For fun - and NOT to make a mint - I do a 4 match acca each weekend based upon the difference in league positions of each team in the games.

I've been able to avoid betting against West Ham so far this season, but may be obliged to for this one.

Can we turn them over? Doubt it, but on 60 minutes I expect a siren, a roll on the drums and the manager to proclaim "Anything can happen in the next half hour"...before we sink into the ground.

I know Derby are only a decent third teir side but I thought we showed some encouraging signs that we might be turning a corner. However, I can't see us scoring more than one in this game so it all depends on whether we can keep Newcastle out.

A draw would be an excellent result. I'm concerned about this one.

I'm not sure where this new wave of confidence in people has come from or what they've seen that they think has changed? Scrape a point against Leeds, scrape a win against Brentford reserves, win against Everton, the worst side in the league by a mile and still only have 32% possession, comfortable win against league one Derby.

Maybe there is slight improvement but it aint anywhere near enough. These games are the games that will show us where we are and I'm pretty sure we are still fucking terrible. I can't see us scoring in our next three, we were toothless against fucking Derby for fucks sake. Fuck off.

They have not conceded a goal in the league for about 10 games.

Cant see us changing that.

One of the best defences against the second poorest attack?

We will get nil so a 0-0 will be the only positive result I can see but I’m a blackbelt 3rd Dan in misery.

We are getting fuck all points from the next 3 league games. Dipshit Dave will now consider Newcastle as one of the big 6 and just give it up same with Chelsea and Spurs. remember he doesn't even bother with these games and his abysmal record shows that up as a reality.

Talking of reality that then means there are only 15 games left to try and get 22 points or hope there are 3 worse teams than us. Pathetic but that's what you get keeping this cunt as a manager.

Don’t look great does it Boleyn?

Good that Bowen has got a few goals of late but creating and scoring still our big issue. Against Derby we weren’t creating much and just don’t seem to have much cutting edge. Reliance on the chasing of a ball into the channel by Antonio still the same. Benrahma maybe the other player who can make something g happen in the final third?

But the ability to transition and create from midfield to the final third is still the issue Imo

Emerson showed a bit more as a wing back but no one carrying the ball and penetrating from midfield. Rice can possibly do it thru strength and running with the ball ? Paqueta needs movement for his passing and without proper wing backs and better control and technical players instead of Antonio particularly and even Bowen his passes to feet seem to not have an outlet? Scamacca was the only one who seemed to be on the same wavelength ?

Anyway, let’s see if Moyes reverts to type and sets up an Alamo style defence again

Their fans will be ecstatic that they have ( probably) got to a Wembley final at last.

They'll be under the lights.

That place will be a bear pit.

Dont see us getting a carrot.

They haven't played all week and can see them being rampant under the lights with that crowd behind them, we could be lambs to the slaughter. Anything is possible I suppose, but I'm pretty much writing this one off.

No idea why but I fancy an upset win for us. We already ended one undefeated streak this week...

Undoubtedly this will look like a horrific bad take come 7.30 Saturday night, but still...

Can’t see us getting anything from this one, but if we do, it will be a welcome bonus.

Two seasons ago Newcastle was an easy six points. Last season it should have been but the draw at home was the start of our downfall. If we want to show we are still a force we must beat them. I hope we do.

If we start coufal and cresswell it's going to be a long day. Between joelinton and almiron, they will be tying those two in knots. Sitting back against them at their place is suicide. They have had a slight dip in form relative to the rest of the season which might mean something if ours hadn't fallen off a cliff.

As solid as they are defensively and in midfield, I don't see how we get anything going against them. Have to hope for a Bowen penalty or set piece goal.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
May as well put down a fantasy team that will never be picked by Moyes and Nevin ( a part of the problem too Imo as he is Moyes tactician ).

——————- Areola
—- Kehrer —- Oggy —— Aguerd
Coufal ——————————Emerson
——— Downes —— Paqueta
-—————Rice——————
——- Bowen ——- Benny

Moyes team:
———— Fabianski
Coufal —— Oggy —-Aguerd — Cresswell
———— Rice ———Paqueta
— Bowen —— Soucek ——- Benny
——————— Antonio ———-

He might play Johnson instead of Cresswell.

Re: ⚽ Newcastle v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
We seem more solid with the 3 centre backs so I’m assuming that will stay - zouma would start if he was fit.

Rice will come back in and maybe Coufal, but otherwise the same.
